Clocking Out for the Holidays

When I was a little kid, I gave multiple people the same banana-shaped birthday card. My dad, grandparents, brother, kids at school. Whoever had a birthday got a banana card.My mom would take me to the grocery store, where I’d look at every single card on the wall and then, inevitably, settle on “You’re the Top Banana!” It was shaped like a banana. It said “Happy Birthday” inside.

I loved it. The bright yellow card worked for me. In retrospect, it was a strong concept, delivered simply.

I feel the same about the Holiday GIF above.

Senior Designer Brian Leahy made it last year, and I liked it a lot. In fact, if we’re still in touch, I might send it to you next year too. It’s comforting and quiet. Around here, it makes us happy. To me, that’s what these next few weeks ought to be: a bit of relaxation, a dose of cheer, a nap on the couch with the dogs. Whatever gets the job done.
